Course Overview
This 3 day in-person / virtual course provides participants with an introduction to the fundamentals of illumination. It gives a comprehensive overview of basic lighting principles, lamp, and luminaire types, lighting calculations, controls, and functional and aesthetic applications best practices. This course is ideal for architects, engineers, designers, contractors, sales reps, customer service reps, manufacturers, distributors, and students. Find full descriptions for each module below.

- Module 1:– Introduction to Light and Lighting
- Module 2:– Electric Light Sources
- Module 3:– Daylighting
- Module 4:– Luminaires
- Module 5:– Lighting Controls
- Module 6:– Metrics, Photometry, Calculations, and Rendering
- Module 7:– Codes, Standards, and Practice
- Module 8:– Lighting for Interiors Environments
- Module 9:– Lighting for Exteriors Environments
- Module 10:– Review
- Monday December 11th: Breakfast check-in at 7:30am
